March Member of the Month- Shelby York

Shelby York is a senior, public relations major from Spanish Fort, Alabama and a member of PC 12.

She has previously served as the Vice President of Public Relations and the Community Service chair. Shelby currently serves as the designated graphic designer and rap video producer- yes all of those fun rap videos on our social media were created by her!

Shelby served as a Gamma Rho Chi both her junior and senior year and loved every minute of it.

Shelby said she chose Tri Delta because...

"I saw a group of girls who would encourage and love me, challenge me, and sometimes simply cut up and have fun. I saw the opportunity for me to grow as a person and a leader. I knew I would leave Tri Delta a better person than when I joined."

Shelby's favorite Tri Delta memory was the Hattiesburg Snow-pocalypse of 2014. The unexpected snow caused Southern Miss to cancel classes for a few days.

"Everybody came over to the house whether they lived there or not because a city-wide curfew was being implemented and if you're going to get cabin fever, at least do it with about 30 of your closest friends. We went 'ice skating', sledding and played outside for hours. We drank an obscene amount of instant hot chocolate and made the largest pot of potato soup the world has ever seen. It was three glorious days of good ole fashioned togetherness, and I've prayed for another blizzard every year since."

Fun fact- Most days you can catch Shelby snoozing on the back porch of Tri Delta in her eno.

Shelby is our member of the month because she serves our chapter in any capacity that is needed- from homecoming floats to rap videos to graphics. We love you Shelby!
